If I wanted to, I could publish the update now without harm. But I would rather put up the remaining Trainz pictures and inspect the site first. On the first update (happening today), there will be a total of NINE pictures, all from Trainz. There will be a few useful pages from the navigation menu, however. You all, this will likely be the last real post I will post on either of my blogs. Thanks for making this enjoyable. I have added a guest book on the renovated website. If it works properly, you can leave comments there. Otherwise, just stay tuned for the post containing the link when it is published!
This is hard work. I think I could create a new website faster, because at least a new website doesn't include deleting everything on the home page. :l The new design is complex, but all I will say is it gives the site more of a desert feel to it. I will save pictures for the day it is opened. ;) I have taken down a few pages, most significantly being the updates and the my signal page. Updates being because I will put those on the home page. My signal because I never seem to go to Riverside anymore. Most old pages still will exist, and those will be given the same renovations. Here are some never asked questions! Will the publish date be pushed back? Yes, probably back even as far as mid June. Will the web address be changed? Likely no, unless I can find a way to... Will the name of the site be changed? Yes, to National Railfan. Will there be pictures of real trains and Trainz there? Yes. Will you quit updating your blogs once it is complete? Likely, but I will see if there is a way people can comment on the site.
As some of you may know, I started a website in 2007, and abandoned it in 2010. Well, I will be giving my old www.trainsignals.homestead.com site a huge overhaul replacing the current basic, bland feel with a newer, more modern and complex feel. I am setting the date for this to be done at May 18th, which may be pushed back some.
I just spent some time looking over http://swrails.com/, and it made me think of how long it has been since I have posted a nice picture on here. Well, with the fact that I will most likely go on multiple railfanning adventures this winter break, San Antonio being a possibility, I decided something. Why not take both my video and digital cameras with me? Expect to see more beginning the 22nd of December...
A new poll has been added. However, this poll is different from other polls for three reasons. One of them you can probably see right off the bat. There are three choices instead of the usual four. Anybody notice anything else unusual? The boxes are square, meaning you may pick one, two, or all three of the choices. The third reason is impossible to see, but it's the reason I made it so you can select multiple answers. There is a possibility that we will only do first place, but there is a possibility we will do all three. It all depends on the number of days available:
One day available: We only do first place
Two days available: We do first and second place.
Three days available: We do all three.
To people who ask to themselves "why hasn't he posted Trainz stuff in over a year?" I moved everything to Trainztalk, my blog devoted to Trainz. Well, I posted this to say that I am re-creating Lane-Seaside.
Tuesday: Our first day there. I will try to post an update when we are there and in the car. We might do Riverside if our moods are up, to test the new camera(pics of it to come later in the day).
Wednesday: Train-free day, will be spending time with family.
Thursday: Cajon Pass: Will do Cajon Station and/or Hill 582. The most dangerous trip, gotta look out for rattlesnakes! :D
Friday: FULLERTON!!! Fullerton on a Friday, great for trains, and railfans.
Saturday: Our train ride to Carlsbad from Riverside. We will be taking the Metrolink on this day. I will take video when we get to the scenic parts of the ride. In the afternoon, we might railfan at the Carlsbad Village platform if time allows.
Sunday: Nothing too much. May go to the station if time allows.
Monday: Our train ride back to Riverside in the afternoon. Will railfan the platform beforehand that day. This will conclude my 2012 June California trip.
